Legacies of Conflict in Afghanistan

The was the final event of AREU’s legacies of conflict research project. The one-day workshop brought together a variety of stakeholders, including victims’ groups, civil society organisations, politicians and administrators. It featured presentations and discussion of key findings with lead researcher Emily Winterbotham and other member of the research team. A keynote address was given by Dr Sima Samar from the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission, and a guest presentation was made by Khudad Bisharat of the Afghanistan Human Rights and Democracy Organization. The afternoon featured group discussions, feedback and reflection. Simultaneous translation was provided between Dari and English.
